a baby dress
when a lovely coworker has a baby girl on your birthday a special gift is in order!
the pattern is the bubble dress bodice from oliver + s with a gathered skirt and flat pipping.
this was my second time making newborn clothing, the first was neela’s lorax pj pants for maya’s third birthday, i felt like i was making doll clothing, it was so tiny!
the main fabric came from stonemountain & daughter and the flat pipping and lining was made from cotton lawn i picked up at gather here a few years ago.
i accidentally cut the skirt a tad too short, so rather than a standard hem i just used a bit of vintage bias tape hem i received from my mother in law a few years back.
finally i used mother of pearl buttons from this etsy store.
