honeycomb butterfly top
but wait, there are more flower girl fabric leftovers!
i used was able to squeeze one more piece out of the lovely honeycomb fabric from fabric depot I used for the garden party dress and mini southport dress: an oliver + s butterfly top in the 12 - 18 month size.
it turned out pretty well!
having already made the garden party dress and the mini southport dress from this fabric I didn’t have much left, but thanks to the non directional nature of the fabric, some ninja cutting, and two tricks I was able to pull it off.
first I had to piece together two different pieces of fabric for the bottom ruffle, which was easy enough.
then my bottom ruffle pieces were a smidge too short, so rather than a full on double folded hem I just used bias tape as a facing.
okay on to the next stash busting project!
