hippie baby pants
my parents are huge hippies, i mean we belonged to a tofu co-op for a good part of the '90s. combined with the fact that they had my sister abby in the mid-70s one has to imagine they dressed her in some pretty funky stuff.
sort of like these goldenrod cords i recently made a friend's baby.
i landed on this color because these friends are very loyal to the football team in washington, d.c. since i was making the red lil' man flannel i thought these pants would look good with it on game day. (and i don't have a problem with their colors.)
the art museum trousers pattern from oliver + s is so much fun to sew. i love the challenge of the welt pocket and am getting better with each one i do.
not too shabby!
i mean how cute is this butt?!
of course i did lining in polka dots, but boyish grey on grey polka dots.
this fabric as significantly thicker than the fine whale corduroy i used for the last pair but i still used french seams (tips on that here). it was a little tricky, and my sewing machine needed a good cleaning when i was done, but the end result was well worth it.
and fitz appears to approve of the softness.
if he wasn't so adorable i'd be irritated he crashed my photo shoot!
doesn't the whole outfit just look adorable?
off to the lil' man!
why do i even give victor credit?
love,
aunt maggie
