beatles drawstring bag
i just can't quit this fabric.
as previously mentioned i first came across the midnight charisma print from amy butler's lark collection at a verb for keeping warm where I bought three yards. later at home I showed victor and he remarked "you know it sorta looks like the cover of a beatles album." henceforth it was known as the beatles fabric.
the first thing I made was a mash up between the bubble dress and playtime dress (both from oliver + s) for maya.
next I made my sister sammie a san francisco scarf (tutorial here).
then I went back and bought the rest they had (another 1 7/8 yards) and roller skate dresses (an oliver + s pattern) for nora and etta.
finally I made a 2+2 blouse by oliver + s for miss neela.
but wait there is more!
last week I made myself the drawstring bag from little things to sew by oliver + s.
for the bottom panel and casing i used a stretch cotton sateen left over from my 100 hours dress and edge-stitched along the bottom seam.
i used a blush cotton voile (purchased years ago at gather here) for the lining and a retro yellow grosgrain for the ribbon.
instead of edge stitching along the top I hand tacked the casing into place.
but I still have one more project left from this fabric!
love,
aunt maggie
