hi, i'm maggie.

(like the rod stewart song)

i'm an elder millennial living in the bay area who loves dark beer, the environment, and sewing for the tiny humans in my life.

swirly swingset skirt

swirly swingset skirt

as part of my stash busting initiative and quest to sew all the oliver + s patterns i recently made this swingset skirt for the toddler of a friend.

i got both the white and fuschia fabric and the coordinating raspberry solid lining fabric on sale almost two years ago at stonemountain & daughter, and while beautiful i hadn't been able to find the right use for it until now.

for the sides i used straight stitch seams which were an excellent choice. as they looks good from the inside:

and like decrotive top stitching from the outside.

finally to keep the ribbon, another stash find, from slipping i used a vintage mother of pearl button left over from nora and etta's hopscotch skirts, which i originally purchased from this awesome etsy shop.

check out my progress sewing all the oliver + s patterns here.

love,

aunt maggie
