2015 recap: tops and tunics
following up from yesterday's post on all the skirts and dresses i made in 2015, today i'll recap all the tops i made this year.
i'm especially excited about this post because with the exception of all the tops i made in 2015 were patterns i hadn't sewn before this year.
without a doubt the rookie of the year was the sketchbook shirt from oliver + s. i explained my love of this shirt here, but the proof is that i made it four times with three different fabrics. first there was the blue version i made with fabric we got in jackson hole wyoming,
then there was the green version i made for a friend's baby in this beautiful forest green and navy fabric from britex.
and finally this red and black version i made for the son of a college friend.
another favorite was the 2+2 blouse also from oliver + s which I made three times this year. first in the beatles fabric for miss neela,
then in polka dot for the farmers market outfit,
and finally in this swirly print for a mommy & me gift.
another new pattern was the sailboat top from oliver + s which i made from this lovely navy lawn from stonemountain & daughter.
and polka dot facing.
for her lorax themed third birthday party miss maya got a class picnic blouse (which is also an oliver + s pattern) out of truffula tree fabric.
not to be forgotten I also made v something: this knit rugby shirt from a retro 80s pattern and a beautiful knit fabric i picked up from britex after we went caught a soccer, i mean futbol game at maggie mcgarrys one saturday.
finally speaking of knits I made nora and etta hopscotch tops from this beautiful knit fabric sent to me by the folks at oliver + s. more details on these beautiful tops here.
so there you have all my tops from the year. tomorrow I'll be recapping the pants, pajamas, and jackets i made in 2015.
love,
aunt maggie
