a homemade gift

a homemade gift

for the past few years I've done non physical gifts for my family, giving gift certificates for restaurants or local experiences instead. this year i did that as well as a few homemade things.

today i am going to show what i made for my very favorite person: my own mama.

first i made her a tobacco flower and vanilla candle.

complete with a handmade label:

since she is my mother I decided to give her something from my favorite fabric, this branch print quilting cotton.

well once i convinced fitz to part with it.

i made her something every hostess always needs more of: napkins.

whenever I make napkins I add a piece of twill tape or grosgrain ribbon to hang it by. I got this grosgrain from gather here a few years back. at half a yard (18 inches) it was too short for so many projects, but just right for six napkins.
