reversible swingsets
kids clothing makes a good housewarming gift right?
a few years back victor and i headed east for thanksgiving. while there we visited a few college friends. for one family i brought a pair of reversible oliver + s swingset skirts for their daughters.
i like this pattern for sewing for kids when i am unsure on their size because the double elastic waist band is really forgiving.
i made the skirts from two double gauze fabrics i picked up from a verb for keeping warm in oakland. in order to be reversible i made a few minor adjustments to the construction of the skirts:
instead of using the slightly smaller lining pattern piece, i used the main pattern piece twice so the fabrics were the exact same size.
i hemmed both layers of the skirts by hand so they perfectly matched in terms of size, making sure to fold the fabrics in so they faced each other.
i didn’t understich along the top, skipped the ribbon detail, and omitted my usual label.
