lobster
after making pretty dresses for talia, halloween costumes are probably my favorite thing to sew.
for jude’s first halloween in 2020 i made him a lobster costume. it was a pretty simple sew from three oliver + s patterns: the top was the field trip raglan top, the pants were the playtime leggings, and the ‘claws’ were a variation on the mittens from the little things to sew book. the hat was a self creation.
the fabric was from stonemountain & daughter, i forget what i originally purchased the red for, but it was definitely used in maya’s 2015 violet incredible costume. the orange was left over from maya’s 2015 snow day playtime dress.
i’m happy to report that this costume held up well and talia was able to wear it a few years later.
