within an hour of finding out that talia was going to be a girl i went to my fabric stash and starting planning her first dress. not surprisingly i pulled out two kinds of nani iro double gauze from stonemountain & daughter and that night i got to work on a variation of the bubble dress from oliver + s.
she wore the dress for her baby naming ceremony at our synagogue when she was a few weeks old, and the color perfectly matched victor’s yamaka and his late grandfather’s tallit, which she was wrapped in during the ceremony.
blue is my favorite color to dress her in, thanks to her eyes, and since this dress i’ve made her several things from these fabrics, including a swingset skirt and a pair of two + two blouses.
