a belated thank you (part two)
a few years ago I came home from work to the best surprise: the good folks at oliver + s had sent me a package of goodies! (i’ve already shared the first things I made from this package here.)
as part of my resolution to sew more knit fabric I decided to use the floral print to make something. Since it was a gift from oliver + s I naturally used one of their patterns: the playtime dress.
I whipped up a size two for miss neela and was very happy with how it came out. This fabric really is great for us knit newbies; it’s stable with a decent thickness that make it easy to work with. using a ball point needle and reducing presser foot tension also helped.
i didn’t have anything of a similar weight it my stash so I decided to use the same fabric for the pockets, and it worked perfectly.
I used a few cherry red buttons from my stash for the back (and practiced my button-hole-on-knit-game) and a solitary purple star for the secret sissy button.
