this week i'll be recapping my projects from 2015 and taking about some of my plans for early 2016. today i'm kicking it off by talking about the skirts and dresses i made this year.

this week i'll be recapping my projects from 2015 and taking about some of my plans for early 2016. today i'm kicking it off by talking about the skirts and dresses i made this year.
the holidays mean the girls are home from school. so cue charlie brown christmas music because here are some cute pictures of them doing fun things...
being an aunt is pretty much the greatest thing ever.
i show up a few times a year with gummy bears and some new books, spend an hour building an awesome lego castle while drinking my sister's beer, let the kid stay up 15 minutes later than they normally would, then drop the mic because i just nailed it.
aside from Legos one of the activities I like to do most with the girls is sewing. Today I'm going to share my tips on how I (attempt) to make it a tear free process for everyone.
a little while back i shared ten tiny sewing tools i love. while adorable those little things aren't the only tools i use. so today i'm going to share ten more that are also essential.
maya has developed quite the fashion sense, we're calling it 'ragamuffin chic'. (see her second birthday tunic in there?)
hope everyone had an awesome turkey day! mine consisted of putting my cat in a purple polkadot bow tie, frying one turkey, smoking another, and chopping wood.
as an american it's my duty to support the economy on black friday, so in this post i'll share some of my favorite small business sewing shops.
why do i love small sewing shops?
happy turkey day!
v and i are spending the holiday in wine country with our good friends colin & christina. the boys are outside chopping wood and smoking the turkey.
today i'm going to share ten sewing tools sewing tools I'm thankful for. nine are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand!
today i'm wrapping up the series on my favorite home made gifts by talking about things you can make for housewarming, hostess, and girl friends.
so i've talked about the two sewing resolutions i made myself in 2015: to have less fabric and to sew more knit fabric. a third resolution i'm giving myself for the rest of 2015 and for 2016 is to sew more patterns and styles.
neela and rosie have found common ground.
meanwhile maya have continues to enjoy her dolly ergo.
yesterday i talked about my desire to have less fabric, which means i made one of my goals for 2015 to sew through all my good but not great fabric.
today i am going to talk about the other goal I set for myself in 2015: sew more knit fabric.
for 2015 i made myself two sewing resolutions. over a few posts i will share them as well as a third i'm adding for 2016.
my first resolution is to have less fabric.
crazy right?
i think of my early sewing projects like i think of high school: sure at the time i thought i had it figured out and was doing a bang up job, but man there were some cringe worthy situations.
however unlike my high school experiences i am better for it and am willing to talk about them. so i thought i would put together a list of my favorite techniques and tips that i've found make my sewing more professional.
it's pretty obvious i love all 49 of my oliver + s patterns (94 if you count each size), but according to all the podcasts about blogging one should do 'list posts' so here it goes:
